Suvendu’s Close Circle Remain Under Target?

After a landslide victory, the lotus has finally bloomed in Bengal. Suvendu Adhikari rises as the saffron flagbearer sitting on the Bengal throne. However, this celebratory episode has been overshadowed by a side murder mystery in Bengal. Ever since Suvendu’s close aide Chandranathrath was mysteriously murdered, it has opened doors for a multitude of unanswered questions, sources say.

This is not the first time that Suvendu’s close associate has died or been attacked under suspicious circumstances. One such officer who had survived an earlier attack and was being treated in Delhi has now died, spurring fresh political speculations in West Bengal, sources say.

Over the years, Suvendu’s close aides have been subjected to violent attacks. In 2013, when Suvendu was in Mamata's camp as her most trusted right-hand, his then-close aide was murdered. Later, in 2018, an officer connected to him was killed. Then in 2021, one of his female associates and her companion were shot dead, sources say.

Repeated killings of anyone who becomes Suvendu’s Kautilya have infused a great sense of fear among officers and political workers. Many speculate whether these killings or attacks are only coincidences or part of a greater clandestine political rivalry, sources say.
