Priyanka Gandhi Played Instrumental In Kerala Chief Minister Selection

Rahul Gandhi was a little hesitant and was unable to dismiss Venugopalan, the party's Organising Secretary. At this stage, the source says, the Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi entered the selection process. After reading the mood of the party workers in Kerala, she convinced her brother to support the LoP Satheesan for the CM chair, the source says.  She also convinced her mother and requested to take the lead in the selection process. The meeting was scheduled for last Wednesday at Kharage's residence to decide on the CM's name. Venugopalan was also invited, but after the above-mentioned developments, the meeting was cancelled, and at that point Venugopalan probably understood that he was not the number one in the race, the source says. The next morning, at Kharge's residence, Rahul Gandhi and Kharge, for about two hours, convinced Venugopalan to support Satheesan as CM of Kerala, the source says. With great difficulty, Venugopalan agreed to support and cooperate with the new Congress government, the supportive party source says.
